Avoiding project delays despite the COVID-19 Pandemic

Rakesh Reddy, Director, Aparna Constructions, For Telengana Times

As we continue to put in our best efforts to get through this pandemic, it’s also our responsibility to ensure the completion of ongoing projects in the promised time. Our Director Mr. Rakesh Reddy discusses the same with Telangana Times. Here are a few takeaways:

  • Restart plan Post-Lockdown: Previous projects have been completed within the provided time, despite having a grace period of 6 months. Aparna is taking measures to boost the speed at the ongoing projects after the lockdown is relaxed to meet the deadline and avoid entering the grace period.
  • Progress amidst the Lockdown: Aparna had deployed 5,000 workers who worked during the lockdown observing all safety measures. This helped the projects from going to a complete halt. Parallel to that, our finance personnel is working from home while the human resources staff visits sites and offices to take care of crucial needs.
  • Relief Considerations to benefit the Ongoing Projects: The recent measures taken by the RBI to support real estate and non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) through dedicated packages and other relief considerations has been significantly helpful. This has increased the liquidity during such difficult times and will help deliver projects on time.
